A global manufacturing business is seeking a 100% mechanically biased Shift Mechanical Engineer to join their production engineering team. This is a hands-on maintenance role supporting high-speed manufacturing and packaging operations in a fast-paced environment.
\n
This role is ideal for a practical, technically strong mechanical engineer who enjoys fault finding, machine repair, and supporting production reliability.
\n\nThe Role\n
Working on a Panama shift pattern , you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across automated production equipment.
\n
You will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving equipment reliability and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
\n\nKey Responsibilities\n
\n \n Carry out mechanical maintenance across production and manufacturing equipment
\n
\n
\n Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on automated, high-speed machinery
\n
\n
\n Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
\n
\n
\n Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise production disruption
\n
\n
\n Carry out strip-down, rebuild and component replacement work
\n
\n
\n Support reliability and process improvement activities
\n
\n
\n Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
\n
\n
\n Work in line with site safety and quality standards
\n
\n
\n\nAbout You\n
We are looking for a strong, hands-on mechanical engineer with experience working in production or manufacturing environments.
\nEssential\n
\n \n Strong mechanical engineering background (fully mechanical bias)
\n
\n
\n Experience working in manufacturing, FMCG or high-volume production environments
\n
\n
\n Proven mechanical fault-finding skills
\n
\n
\n Experience with planned and reactive maintenance
\n
\n
\n Comfortable working shift patterns
\n
\n
\nDesirable\n
\n \n Experience with automated production machinery
\n
\n
\n Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems
\n
\n
\n Continuous improvement or reliability exposure
