Indian Grocery Store
Location: Plumstead
Hours: Between 9.00am - 9.00pm, Monday to Sunday (with scheduled time off during the week)

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and busy independent Indian grocery store located on a thriving high street in Plumstead. This is a hands-on management opportunity ideal for someone ready to step up into their first managerial role, provided they have solid, hands-on experience within an Indian grocery retail environment.

Ideal Background:

Strong experience with Indian groceries within a retail setting
Confident advising customers on spices, fresh produce, dry goods and traditional food items
Previous senior team member, supervisor or keyholder experience would be advantageous
Experience within an African grocery store would also be beneficial due to product crossover and customer base

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the overall running of the store and managing a small team of 2-3 staff
Creating staff rotas and providing day-to-day supervision
Delivering excellent customer service and product knowledge
Stock control, ordering and supplier coordination
Shelf stacking and maintaining strong visual merchandising standards
Till management, cash handling and end-of-day cashing up
Monitoring stock levels across fresh, frozen and ambient goods
Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards

Our client is open to individuals looking to progress into a management role; however, you must already have sufficient in-store grocery experience to confidently lead from the front in a fast-paced retail setting.
