Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join our team on a large-scale residential project in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that construction works are delivered accurately, safely, and in line with project specifications and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting out and surveying the site in accordance with design drawings and specifications
* Interpreting technical drawings and ensuring works are carried out to the correct standards
* Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and design teams to coordinate works
* Managing and resolving technical queries and discrepancies
* Monitoring quality control and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and project requirements
* Overseeing groundworks, drainage, and structural elements of the build
* Maintaining accurate site records, including as-built drawings and reports
* Conducting regular site inspections to ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met
* Supporting the delivery of the project to agreed timelines and budget
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Site Engineer, preferably on residential developments
* Strong understanding of construction methods, setting out, and surveying equipment
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations within construction
* Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or related field)
