The Site Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support to the delivery of highway improvement works associated with Section 278 agreements. This includes setting out, quality assurance, and ensuring works are delivered in line with technical specifications, programme requirements, and safety standards. Setting Out & Engineering Control Carry out accurate setting out of highway works including kerbing, drainage runs, road construction, footways, and associated infrastructure. Establish and maintain site control points, benchmarks, and survey data. Verify line, level, and dimensional accuracy of all works undertaken on site. Produce and maintain as-built surveys and records for completed works. Quality Assurance Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and local authority standards. Carry out quality inspections and checks on materials and workmanship. Complete Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and maintain QA documentation. Identify and raise technical queries (TQs) or design issues with the design team where required. Site Coordination Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure works are delivered efficiently and to programme. Coordinate works alongside traffic management operations and live highway constraints.
