Abatec is recruiting for a freelance Site Engineer to join one of Southwest’s biggest Civil Engineering projects. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning tier-one contractor that has secured an exciting, challenging, and ongoing project in Plymouth, Devon.

The successful candidate will have previously worked in a similar position on major projects.

As Site Engineer you will:

* Have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in setting out on civil engineering schemes.

* Use a robotic total station to provide levelling and survey the site

* Check drawings and quantities, ensuring the accuracy of calculations.

* Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built drawings’

* Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary.

Our client requires a Site Engineer with:

* Experience with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical, and digital levels).

* Valid CSCS and experience of robotic total stations.

* Due to the nature of the scheme the successful engineer will be required to undergo SC clearance.

* A good understating of construction health & safety protocols.

* Excellent communication skills.

* Experience in Groundworks, Earthworks, and RC works.

* Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable.

Salary/Benefits:

* £360 - £420 per day PAYE Umbrella
