Site Maintenance Supervisor
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Site Maintenance Supervisor to lead the day-to-day maintenance operations within our specialist animal facilities. This is a critical role ensuring all site services, equipment, and systems operate efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and animal welfare.
You will play a key role in embedding a “safety first” culture, managing contractors, and ensuring all maintenance programmes meet regulatory and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate site maintenance activities and services
- Ensure all equipment and systems are maintained in optimal working condition
- Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and daily/weekly checks
- Oversee heating, ventilation, generator testing, and filter change programmes
- Maintain fault logs and organise timely repairs
- Source quotations for repairs and equipment replacement
- Manage external contractors to ensure high service standards
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety best practices across the site
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including ASPA, AAALAC, and ISO 9001:2015
Essential Requirements
- Basic electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail
- IT proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook; database systems desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
- Understanding of regulated environments and compliance standards
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
