Your new company A successful local main contractor, renowned for its rapid growth and exceptional reputation, operates across education, healthcare, and public sector projects. Specialising in both new-build and refurbishment schemes, the company delivers high-quality results with a strong focus on client satisfaction. This extremely stable business boasts one of the longest average employee tenures in Kent, reflecting its commitment to staff development and retention. Following the award of several new projects, the company is seeking an experienced Site Manager to run a £2 million refurbishment of a public building in Croydon. This is a sensitive project with various security and logistical challenges but a very interesting scheme to lead. Further works will be of a similar nature in the Greater London area. Your new role Reporting to a visiting contracts manager, you will take full responsibility for leading the project on-site, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key duties include: Overseeing day-to-day site operations and managing subcontractors. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Coordinating with the project team, clients, and stakeholders to maintain clear communication. Monitoring progress, managing resources, and resolving issues promptly. Maintaining accurate site records and reporting to senior management. Driving quality assurance and ensuring adherence to design specifications.

What you'll need to succeed You will be working as a site manager and have previous experience of managing your own scheme. A varied main contracting project background would be preferred. Working on high-security refurbishments again would be preferred but is not essential. This is a long-term appointment and, following the initial scheme, future works will vary within the new build and refurbishment sectors.
