We are recruiting for an experienced Civils / Groundworks Site Manager to take full responsibility for delivering a £5m groundworks and infrastructure package on a major construction project in Bristol. This is a long-term opportunity for a capable Site Manager who is confident overseeing all aspects of groundworks and civil engineering, from initial site set-up through to completion. The Role As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing all on-site operations related to the groundworks package, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard. You will take ownership of the package, coordinating subcontractors, managing site teams, and ensuring all works are delivered in line with design and specification. Scope of Works * Bulk earthworks and site preparation * Foundations and substructure works * Drainage (foul and storm) * Roads, kerbing, and external works * Service installations and utilities coordination * Hard landscaping and finishing works Key Responsibilities * Oversee day-to-day site operations across the civils package * Manage subcontractors, plant, and labour * Ensure full compliance with health & safety procedures * Monitor progress against programme and report accordingly * Maintain quality control and ensure works meet specifications * Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and commercial teams * Manage site documentation including RAMS and reports Requirements * Proven experience as a Site Manager in civils / groundworks * Strong background delivering full groundworks packages * Ability to manage projects independently from start to finish * Excellent organisational and leadership skills Essential: * SMSTS * CSCS Card * First Aid at Work What’s on Offer * Long-term role on a major Bristol-based project * Competitive rate / salary * Immediate or short notice start * Opportunity to take ownership of a significant package
