Job Title: Site Manager Location: Stockton-on-Tees Sector: Civil Engineering – Plotworks Projects Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: £55k base car About the Role Our client are a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundworks solutions across the North East. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee plotworks projects in and around Stockton-on-Tees. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a proactive approach to programme delivery, safety, and quality. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day site operations on plotworks schemes (roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, external works). Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, plant, and materials. Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Maintain high standards of health & safety and ensure compliance with all regulations. Liaise with clients, engineers, local authorities, and utility providers. Monitor programme progress and report to Contracts Manager. Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and quality checks. Ensure accurate record keeping, RAMS implementation, and site documentation control. Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering and groundworks. Strong background in plotworks (housing infrastructure experience ). SMSTS (essential) CSCS (Black/Gold Card) First Aid at Work Temporary Works Coordinator (advantageous) Strong communication and organisational skills.
