Freelance Site Manager – Social Housing
Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire
Duration: Circa 3 months
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a new build social housing project in Northallerton. The scheme is timber frame, therefore proven timber frame experience is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day management of site operations from timber frame erection through to completion stages
Managing subcontractors and trades to programme and quality standards
Ensuring health & safety compliance at all times
Coordinating deliveries, materials, and site logistics
Liaising with the client, timber frame manufacturer, and project team
Maintaining site records, RAMS, progress reports, and snagging
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience as a Site Manager on timber frame new build projects
Previous experience delivering social housing or residential developments
Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and drive the project forward
Contract Details:
Freelance / self-employed basis
Approximately 3 months duration
Competitive day rate dependent on experience
