Job Title: Site Manager - Major Roundabout Upgrade (Short Term) Location: Northampton Start Date: ASAP Duration: Until Early November 2025 Rate: £350-£370 per day (Outside IR35)
Overview:
We are urgently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a major roundabout upgrade project in Northampton. This is a short-term contract role with an immediate start, running through to early November 2025 - with potential for further works beyond this project. You will play a key role in managing on-site activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget, in line with highways and local authority standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily site supervision and coordination of subcontractors and workforce
Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental and quality standards
Liaise with the project manager, local authorities, and stakeholders
Monitor progress, manage site documentation, and report issues proactively
Oversee traffic management measures and minimize disruption to the public
Attend and contribute to site meetings and toolbox talks
Requirements:
Proven experience managing highways or civil infrastructure projects
Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid certifications
Strong understanding of traffic management and working in live environments
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme targets
