Site Reliability Engineer | Contract Role


Up to £600 per day (Inside IR35)

What you will be doing

As a mid to senior SRE, you will play a hands on role in keeping platforms fast, scalable, and rock solid You will manage and optimise CDN platforms across a dual vendor setup (Fastly and Akamai) , ensure consistency between CDN configurations and edge logic, and work with VCL to implement routing, caching, and request handling logic. You will build and manage infrastructure using Terraform and automation tools ⚙️, run and scale Kubernetes platforms in production , and develop and enhance CI CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins. You will also reduce manual effort through smart automation , support and improve data and caching systems like Redis, Kafka, MongoDB, Cassandra, enhance observability using Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch , and take part in incident response while continuously improving platform reliability


What you will bring

Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins, along with experience working in cloud environments ideally AWS ☁️. You will have solid Kubernetes experience in production, exposure to CDN and edge platforms such as Fastly or Akamai, and strong scripting skills including Bash plus another language . Experience with messaging or database platforms like Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra is important, alongside a deep understanding of scalable and resilient system design. You should also have sharp troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, pipelines, and applications, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement and learning
