Site Service Engineer

Futures recruitment are looking to appoint a site service engineer. This role is focused on the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage and low-voltage equipment. The site service engineer involves both project-based installation work and ongoing service activities, ensuring equipment is installed, tested, and maintained to the required technical, safety, and quality standards.
The role also includes attending site to investigate and rectify equipment issues under warranty, as well as completing planned and reactive maintenance activities to support long-term operational reliability.
Roles & Responsibilities
Install and commission new electrical plant and package substations on site Carry out mechanical installation, cabling, wiring, and termination works Perform functional testing, inspections, and commissioning activities in line with specifications and standards Attend site to investigate faults, complete rectification works, and return equipment to service Undertake routine and preventative maintenance tasks on installed equipment Read and work from technical drawings, schematics, and documentation Complete site documentation, test records, and service reports accurately Work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times Liaise with project teams, site management, and clients to coordinate works effectively Support breakdown response and service call-outs as required Qualifications & Experience
Recognised electrical qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ, or equivalent) Experience working on high-voltage and low-voltage electrical plant and substations Proven background in site installation, commissioning, or maintenance activities Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and safe systems of work Full UK driving licence (or willingness to travel to site locations) Relevant authorisations or safety certifications (desirable but not essential)
