This position is based at Low Marnham, NG23 6SP. We are seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join the team at JG Pears, Newark Ltd. The role offers a varied workload, working on well-maintained vehicles including leading brands such as Scania, Volvo and DAF. You will be operating within a well maintained, up-to-date workshop, providing the chance to work on a variety of tasks and develop your skills.

*Shift pattern: *Rotating shift pattern alternating every 2 weeks between early and late shifts. This equates to an average of 45 hours per week, with early shifts from 5:00am to 2:00pm and late shifts from 2:00pm to 11:00pm (an extra £10 per late shift paid).

*We would also be open to hearing from candidates who have a preference for another shift pattern. *

*Responsibilities*

* Conduct thorough HGV and trailer safety inspections and MOT preparation to ensure full VOSA compliance
* Maintain and repair HGV electrical and hydraulic systems
* Complete tasks efficiently, providing accurate updates while remaining focused under pressure

*Requirements:*

* Qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in HGV repair and servicing
* Demonstrate practical experience and enthusiasm for the role
* Strong attention to detail in inspections, repairs and documentation
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

*Due to location own transport is essential.*
