Key Responsibilities Set and operate Star Sliding Head Lathes Machine components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards Carry out inspection and self-certification using manual and automated metrology equipment Work from engineering drawings, inspection plans, and technical documentation Support problem solving and continuous improvement activities Apply lean manufacturing principles (5S, etc.) Perform basic preventative maintenance Requirements Proven experience setting sliding head lathes (Star preferred) Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision environment Competent using inspection and measurement equipment Ability to read engineering drawings (metric & imperial) Understanding of GD&T Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative Able to work both independently and within a team Shift Pattern (2-Week Rotation) AM: MonThurs: 06:0014:15 Fri: 06:1511:45 PM: MonTues: 14:0021:15 WedThurs: 14:0021:30 Fri: 11:3019:30 Package / Benefits xehkeey Competitive base salary shift allowance 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) Private medical insurance Pension (from 6% employer contribution) Life assurance & share scheme Onsite gym, free parking & EV charging Wellbeing & financial support Career progression & development opportunities Additional Information Our client is a globally recognised aerospace manufacturer known for its strong engineering culture, high-quality standards, and commitment to continuous improvement.
