Position Title: Social Science Teacher Location: Brent
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Social Science Teacher for a School in Brent. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, and related social studies topics. This role involves creating engaging lessons, fostering critical thinking, and helping students understand the world around them.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured Social Science lessons aligned with the curriculum.
* Teach subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, Economics, or other related disciplines depending on grade level.
* Develop lesson plans that promote inquiry-based learning, discussion, and analytical skills.
* Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, projects, and examinations.
* Provide individual support to students to enhance their learning outcomes.
* Integrate technology, multimedia, and real-world examples to enrich classroom instruction.
* Maintain an organized, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
* Participate in school events, parent meetings, workshops, and faculty development programs.
* Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and best teaching practices.
* Prepare students for internal and external examinations where applicable.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, History, Geography, Civics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Teaching certification or professional teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, B.Ed, PGCE) is an advantage.
* Prior experience teaching Social Sciences at primary, secondary, or high-school level is preferred.
* Strong command of subject matter and current teaching methodologies.
* Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness among students.
* Familiarity with technology-enhanced learning and digital teaching tools.
