1stRecruitment specialise in health and social care roles in Guernsey and are currently seeking aSupervising Social Worker - Family Placement Service

Responsibilities Undertake comprehensive assessments of foster carers, adopters, and kinship/connected persons within agreed timescales
Complete annual reviews and present reports to relevant panels
Prepare court and tribunal reports and attend hearings as required
Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and support to carers to ensure high standards of care
Contribute to permanency planning, family finding, and matching processes
Deliver and support training programmes such as Skills to Foster and Preparation to Adopt
Promote placement stability and positive outcomes for children, including those with complex needs or trauma backgrounds
Work collaboratively with carers, families, and multi-agency professionals
Participate in duty rotas, including out-of-hours work when required

Requirements Qualified Social Worker (Degree/Diploma in Social Work, CQSW or equivalent)
Registered with Social Work England
Experience in fostering, adoption, or family placement work
Strong understanding of childcare legislation, fostering/adoption standards, and best practice
Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic parenting approaches
Full driving licence
