Role Overview As a Social Worker within the Safeguarding & Looked After Children Team, you will manage complex cases involving children at risk of harm and those looked after by the local authority. You will play a key role in safeguarding practice, care planning and court work, ensuring childrens safety, stability and long-term outcomes remain central to all decision-making.
What You Will Do Manage a varied caseload including Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Looked After Children cases.

Undertake statutory assessments and develop robust, child-centred plans.

Lead and contribute to child protection conferences, core groups and statutory reviews.

Participate in Public Law Outline (PLO) processes and care proceedings.

Prepare high-quality, analytical court reports and provide evidence when required.

Develop, review and progress Care Plans, Placement Plans and Permanence Plans.

Ensure childrens voices are central to all planning and decision-making.

Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including health, education, police and legal services.

Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality case recordings in line with professional standards.

Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.

Person Specification / Requirements Degree in Social Work (BA, MA or DipSW).

Registration with Social Care Wales is essential.

Post-qualifying experience within Childrens Social Care.

Experience in safeguarding and working with Looked After Children.

Court work experience in care proceedings is desirable.
