Principal AI Architect – GenAI / Enterprise AI Platform

Location: London (Hybrid)

Hands-on Principal Role | Build, Scale & Own Production AI Systems


Our client is a globally recognized enterprise software company investing heavily in next-generation AI and decision intelligence platforms used by major international organisations.

This is a principal-level, hands-on architecture role for someone who wants to go beyond strategy. You’ll design, build, and scale production-grade AI systems embedded directly into a live enterprise product.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how LLMs, Generative AI, and agentic systems are applied at real-world scale.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Defining and delivering end-to-end architecture for GenAI capabilities
  • Designing and building agentic AI systems (reasoning, orchestration, multi-step workflows)
  • Architecting LLM-powered applications (RAG, vector search, semantic layers)
  • Building and scaling AI systems in production (performance, reliability, observability)
  • Driving architecture across distributed systems, APIs, and AI platforms
  • Establishing best practices for evaluation, guardrails, and monitoring
  • Staying hands-on with implementation - not a pure design role



What They’re Looking For

  • Proven experience designing and shipping production AI/ML systems in enterprise environments
  • Strong expertise in LLMs, Generative AI, and modern AI application design
  • Hands-on experience with RAG, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or similar
  • Strong Python and/or Java engineering background
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture
  • Experience owning systems end-to-end (design → build → scale → operate)
  • Ability to connect technical decisions to business impact
