Software Engineer (FTC – 12 Months)
Salary: £57,000 – £60,000 Location: Havant, Hampshire Working Pattern: Hybrid (1 day a month unless busy and more presence required) Hours: 40 hours per week
The Role We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support and enhance a suite of applications used by internal teams and UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) customers. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys owning development work end to end, improving existing systems, and delivering secure, high-quality software in a regulated environment.
What You’ll Be Doing Own the full software development lifecycle – design to deployment and support
Build and maintain modern front-end interfaces
Develop robust back-end systems, APIs, and databases
Work closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Ensure software meets security, performance, and compliance standards
Explore and integrate new technologies, including AI and automation
Essential Skills & Experience Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Strong full-stack development experience
C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Experience with SQL-based databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
Familiar with version control, testing, and development best practice
