Job Description
Software Quality Assurance / Audit Engineer Location: Bristol (Permanent)
Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer with a strong focus on audit, compliance, and governance to join their team in Bristol. This permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a highly regulated environment, providing independent assurance across complex and mission-critical programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting software quality audits and project quality assessments to ensure compliance with defined processes, policies, and standards
Ensuring adherence to internal software quality management systems and applicable and international standards
Providing independent oversight and assurance across multiple programmes and project activities
Working closely with software development teams to assess process effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
Identifying, escalating, and tracking quality risks, non-conformances, and critical issues
Supporting governance activities and contributing to monthly quality and compliance reports
Promoting a strong quality culture and influencing continuous improvement initiatives
Maintaining clear, concise, and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels
Job Requirements:
Background in software development and/or software quality assurance within a regulated environment
Strong understanding of software lifecycle processes, governance, and compliance frameworks
Knowledge of relevant and international software standards
Ability to objectively assess processes and influence change without direct authority
Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to changing priorities
Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
Experience or working knowledge of configuration management, documentation control, and requirements management systems
