Solar Site Manager (Contract)\n\nLocation: Leeds (Head Office) - Nationwide Travel Required\n Rate: £280-£320 per day (CIS)\n Contract Type: Freelance / Contract\n\nAbout the Company \nOur client is a fast-growing, technology-led renewable energy developer and EPC contractor delivering large-scale solar and energy storage projects across the UK. \nWith a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence, they support commercial, industrial and utility-scale clients in accelerating the transition to low-carbon energy solutions. Headquartered in Leeds, they operate nationally and manage projects from development through to construction and grid connection.\n\nThe Role \nWe are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Solar Site Manager to oversee the delivery of ground-mounted and rooftop solar PV installations nationwide.
\nReporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for on-site delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme and to a high standard of quality. This role will require nationwide travel and regular overnight stays depending on project location.\n\nKey Responsibilities \nManage day-to-day site operations on solar PV and battery storage projects. \nEnsure full compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, including site inductions, RAMS and permits to work.
\nCoordinate subcontractors and oversee site teams to ensure works are delivered in line with programme. \nChair daily briefings and monitor progress against key milestones. \nIdentify and escalate risks, delays or commercial issues where necessary.
\nOversee materials, plant and equipment on site, ensuring correct storage and usage. \nCarry out inspections, snagging and key stage sign-offs to ensure quality standards are met. \nMaintain accurate site records and reporting.
\nAttend site meetings with clients, DNOs, subcontractors and internal teams, representing the business professionally at all times.\n\nAbout You \nYou will have at least three years' experience managing solar PV construction projects, either ground-mounted or rooftop installations. A strong understanding of PV systems and battery storage integration is essential. \nYou will have a proven track record of delivering projects safely and on programme, alongside strong leadership and communication skills.
