The Barbican Kitchen is located within the iconic Barbican Estate in the City of London. Open year-round from 10am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, it operates as a vibrant Café/Restaurant offering a dynamic and informal dining experience. The venue features acold deli and seasonal salad counter, apizza counterserving freshly made pizzas, and ahot food counteroffering a rotating selection of seasonal meat, fish, and vegan dishes, accompanied by a variety of vegetable sides. In addition, there is astreet food stationwith an ever-changing menu inspired by global cuisines. Service isassisted at the counters, with no table service provided. As such, there isno tronc systemin place. Salary: £35,000- £37,000 per annum Shifts: 5 days out of 7, daytime Contract: Full Time, Permanent About the Sous Chef role: Reporting directly with the Head Chef and deputising in their absence Working with the Head Chef and Group Executive Chef to develop new menu ideas and ways to improve our offerings Ensuring the food quality is at its highest standard at all times Ensure the performance of the chef teamis ofthe highest standard by motivating and leading by example Overseeing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control in conjunction with the Head Chef Ensure all food safety and health and safety procedures are maintained to the highest standard The ideal candidate will have: Experience within a high volume kitchens Strong communication and leadership skills Additional Information Benugo has built a culture of inclusivity & progression for all employees.
