We are looking for a passionate, hardworking Sous Chef to join the team at The Hop Pole, Retford .
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key role within a busy, fast-paced kitchen , producing quality food for a high-volume operation delivering a minimum of 800 covers per week . We are looking for someone who thrives under pressure, leads by example, and takes real pride in consistency, standards, and teamwork.

What were looking for:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up

Ability to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen

Confidence in leading a team during busy services

Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

Passion for fresh food, presentation, and consistency

High standards of cleanliness, food safety, and kitchen compliance

A calm, positive attitude and strong work ethic

The role will include:
Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations

Leading service and maintaining high standards during busy periods

Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste

Training and motivating junior kitchen team members

Ensuring food hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed at all times

Helping drive quality, consistency, and efficiency across the kitchen
