We're currently seeking a skilled and dependable Sous Chef to join the catering team at our private hospital . This is a unique opportunity to work in a calm, professional environment where quality, nutrition, and care are at the heart of everything we do.
As Sous Chef, you'll support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for patients, staff, and visitors-ensuring excellent standards of food safety, presentation, and dietary compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in overseeing the daily kitchen operation
* Prepare and present meals that meet medical, dietary, and cultural requirements
* Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times
* Supervise and guide kitchen staff to ensure consistency and efficiency
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
* Help plan menus in line with nutritional guidelines and patient needs
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie in a high-volume or healthcare setting
* Understanding of dietary requirements, allergens, and special diets
* Strong leadership and time management skills
* Commitment to hygiene, safety, and operational standards
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent preferred, in house training will be given
* A team player with a calm and compassionate approach
