Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team. The Sous Chef works closely with the Head Chef to uphold the restaurants high standards both for food preparation and presentation and support the daily management of the kitchen brigade. This role requires an uncompromising dedication to quality along with great people management skills as the sous chef deputises for the head chef in his absence. Due to the small size of our brigade the sous chef must be able to function in all sections of the kitchen to train junior staff and run a section should the staffing require it. Key Responsibilities Supervise, train, and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a culture of precision, respect, and creativity Ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy of all dishes throughout each service. Assist in the management of daily kitchen operations, including prep, mise en place, and service execution. Oversee food safety, hygiene, and training with the use of Food Alert software. Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and minimize waste through careful planning and control. W Weekly stock taking. Deputise for the sous chef in their absence. Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience in a similar environment as junior sous chef or sous chef. What We Offer 4 days rota (guaranteed Mon, Tuesday off with the 3rd day to be flexible) Staff meals in the restaurant for 2 (twice per year) Staff meals on duty each day Uniforms provided and laundered CPD to maintain H& S, food safety and first aid compliance standards
