SALARY : £52,472 per annum OTE
HOURS : 48 hours per week, any 5 days per week

ABOUT US

The Chequers - our traditional, stylish and cosy gastropub in the picturesque village of Churchill.
We are currently looking for a full-time Sous Chef to join our team at the Chequers in Churchill.
This role offers potential earnings of £52,472 a year, based on £36,000 base salary plus estimated £9,984 in service charge. Please note this is a projected OTE.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking for a skilled and driven Sous Chef who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-standard kitchen environment. In this role, you will contribute to the creation of seasonal menus, use quality local ingredients, and support ongoing menu development.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Sous Chef, strong knowledge of classical cooking methods, and a creative mindset. We are looking for someone who is passionate about excellent food, collaborates well with others, and is committed to continuous improvement.

You are confident leading team and supporting Head Chef.
You take pride in producing quality dishes and maintain consistency across every plate that leaves the pass.

You take hygiene and safety seriously.

WHAT YOULL DO:
Support Head chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen from daily preparation to service and staff supervision.
Oversee kitchen operations, maintain food stock, managing ordering and storage.
Ensure the kitchen always meets food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
Train, motivate and guide junior chefs.
Ensure smooth communication with front of house.
Take full responsibility of the team while Head Chef is off duty.
