Quest Employment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent restaurant and tearoom located within a popular farm-yard destination in Radlett. This highly regarded venue has been serving the local community for over 30 years, offering freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, light bites, seasonal specials and traditional tearoom favourites in a busy daytime setting.

Due to the rural location and limited public transport links, candidates must be able to drive and have access to their own transport.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading a busy kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong senior chef looking for a leadership role with excellent work-life balance no evening shifts and daytime hours only.

You will play a key role in maintaining the venues reputation for high-quality, freshly prepared food while ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.

Working Hours

• Between 7:00am and 5:30pm
• No evening service
• Working 5 days out of 7, including weekends on a rota basis

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
• Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service
• Maintaining consistently high food quality and presentation
• Managing stock control, ordering and waste management
• Ensuring food hygiene, health & safety compliance
• Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials
• Training and developing junior chefs

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
• Confident leading a team in a busy fresh-food environment
• Organised, reliable and hands-on
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen management xbpsjku
• Passionate about delivering high-quality breakfast and lunch service
• Must drive due to location
