Special Needs Teaching Assistant - BD4

Start date: 5th January Contract: Long‑term, full academic year Role: 1:1 support for a Y3 pupil with complex needs

A primary school in BD4 is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 child on a 1‑1 basis from 5th January through to the end of the academic year.

About the role

Providing consistent 1‑1 support for a pupil with complex needs

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies

Supporting learning, communication, emotional regulation, and daily routines

Creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment

Using patience, empathy, and initiative to help the child access learning

What the school is looking for

Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, communication needs, medical or behavioural needs)

Someone calm, reliable, and confident working 1‑1

A team player who can follow guidance but also use initiative

A commitment to the child's long‑term progress and wellbeing
