Specification Technologist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical & Specifications Coordinator with food industry experience to support technical documentation, product specifications, and supplier assurance activities. This role is ideal for someone highly organised, accurate, and comfortable working with technical data and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Complete and review B2B finished product specifications accurately and within deadlines

*

Respond to customer specification queries and provide technical information when required

*

Complete customer documentation including SAQs, nutritional calculations, and supply chain mapping

*

Ensure all specifications comply with legal, customer, and third-party requirements

*

Maintain supplier approval databases and technical documentation

*

Maintain material specifications including allergen, origin, GMO, and packaging information

*

Ensure raw materials are sourced from approved suppliers

*

Support raw material testing requirements alongside the Technical Manager

*

Maintain QC records and traceability documentation

*

Support supplier performance monitoring and food safety risk tracking

*

Maintain production records and temperature monitoring data

*

Support general technical and compliance activities as required

Skills & Experience

Essential:

*

Previous food industry experience (ideally 3+ years)

*

Experience completing product specifications

*

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

*

Understanding of food safety and labelling requirements

*

Good Excel and data entry skills

*

Ability to work to tight deadlines

*

Strong communication skills

Desirable:

*

Experience with online specification portals

*

Supplier assurance experience

*

VACCP or TACCP training

*

Knowledge of Organic or other accreditations

*

Internal auditing experience
