Speech and Language Teaching Assistant (EYFS & Key Stage 1)Full-Time | Starting September | Primary School in Blackburn
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school team in Blackburn from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage One with their communication and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in both one-to-one and small group settings
Work closely with the class teacher and Speech and Language Therapist to deliver targeted interventions
Assist in the planning and implementation of tailored learning activities
Help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with young children, ideally within EYFS or Key Stage One
Demonstrate a strong understanding of speech, language, and communication development
Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable to individual pupil needs
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
Be committed to supporting children’s learning, confidence, and wellbeing
