Working term‑time only, you’ll have the space to deliver meaningful, relationship‑based interventions while contributing to a service committed to trauma‑informed, inclusive practice.
The Role
As Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide specialist assessment, intervention and advice to support children and young people with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs.
You will:

- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and wider multidisciplinary team to ensure joined‑up, effective support.
- Advise teachers, SENCOs and school staff on strategies to promote communication development.
- Develop and deliver training packages, policies and programmes for parents, carers and professionals.
About You
You will be a reflective, child‑centred practitioner with:
- UK‑qualified status and HCPC registration.
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
- Training in Hanen, Elklan, Let’s Talk or VERVE Child Interaction (or willingness to train).
- Strong assessment skills and experience managing a caseload of children with SLCN.
- Knowledge of evidence‑based interventions relevant to expressive/receptive language, social communication, fluency and speech sound development.
- Experience working collaboratively with families and schools.
- Cultural competence and the ability to tailor interventions to diverse family contexts.
- Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and its application in education and family work.
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and maintaining HCPC registration.
About the Service
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team including specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, therapists, family practitioners and careers support. The service combines direct therapeutic work with capacity‑building across local schools.
Its aims are to:

- Strengthen the skills and confidence of families and education staff
