Position Overview


The Strategic Account Director will act as the senior strategic lead across a group of clients, ensuring that accounts are well directed, commercially sound and delivered with clarity. Rather than being in the detail of campaign activation, this person will sit above day-to-day execution, helping clients see the bigger picture while ensuring internal teams remain aligned and focused.


The role is designed for someone who combines strong client leadership with sound commercial judgement. You will need to be comfortable working across paid social, paid search and creative environments, able to interpret performance, shape strategic direction and keep teams and clients moving in the right direction.


In a business of Silvertip’s size, this role carries real influence. You will play a central part in how pods operate, how clients are managed, and how the agency continues to scale.



Key Responsibilities


Senior client leadership


  • Own senior relationships across your client set, acting as the strategic lead and trusted point of contact
  • Lead regular client conversations around performance, priorities, commercial direction and growth opportunities
  • Translate channel performance and business context into clear, commercially useful recommendations
  • Run quarterly reviews and strategic planning sessions with confidence and clarity
  • Manage expectations proactively, particularly where priorities, timings or scope need to be challenged
  • Build trusted relationships with clients while maintaining the agency’s position and standards


Pod leadership and coordination


  • Provide clear direction across your pod, ensuring media and creative teams are aligned around client priorities
  • Set weekly priorities and maintain a strong rhythm of communication across the team
  • Identify delivery risks early and escalate issues before they affect client confidence or team performance
  • Create structure and clarity without overcomplicating ways of working
  • Act as the senior point of accountability across the pod, helping specialists stay focused on the work that matters most


Commercial ownership


  • Take ownership of revenue and margin performance across your pod
  • Ensure account pricing and scope remain aligned to the reality of delivery
  • Spot risks to profitability early, including scope creep, unclear expectations or inefficient ways of working
  • Support sensible decision-making around resource allocation and priorities
  • Help create an environment where teams can deliver high-quality work without being stretched beyond what is sustainable


Strategic and performance oversight


  • Interpret data, trends and commercial signals to shape client strategy and next steps
  • Turn performance into a clear narrative that clients can understand and act on
  • Bring together media and creative thinking into a joined-up account direction, rather than siloed recommendations
  • Identify opportunities for account growth where they are grounded in client need and likely impact
  • Ensure performance reporting is meaningful, not just descriptive


Process and operational discipline


  • Maintain strong standards around documentation, account hygiene and ways of working
  • Ensure pods are operating consistently and following agreed processes
  • Use tools, systems and AI where they genuinely improve efficiency, clarity or strategic output
  • Help reinforce good habits internally so the agency can scale in a disciplined way


Agency representation


  • Represent Silvertip with credibility in senior client conversations and in the market more broadly
  • Contribute to case studies, strategic thinking and wider agency positioning where appropriate
  • Help strengthen the agency’s reputation through the quality of your work, judgement and communication



Experience and Skills


We are open on background, but the ideal candidate is likely to bring a blend of client leadership, strategic thinking and performance marketing experience.


We would expect to see:


  • Experience in a senior account, client leadership or performance marketing role within an agency environment
  • Strong understanding of paid social and paid search, with the ability to operate credibly across both
  • Experience leading client strategy and senior stakeholder relationships
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how agency work translates into revenue and margin
  • Confidence operating in fast-paced environments with a high degree of autonomy
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for both clients and internal teams
