The OpportunityAs a Structural Engineer based at our London office in Southwark, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of structural engineering services. Ridge engineers form a key part of our fully multi-disciplinary design approach and typical tasks include: Prepare outline designs for structural schemes based on the client's brief Carry out detailed design calculations to Eurocodes using the latest 3D design software Co-ordinate your designs with other design disciplines and specialists with BIM Assist with the production of detailed design drawings and specifications for tender purposes Visit site during the construction phase to monitor on-site progress Carry out structural surveys of existing buildings and advise on any issues that may arise Analyse and report on structural defects in existing buildings and structures Check outgoing and incoming documents, including Contractors proposal documentation To be successful you will have: Have a good understanding of basic structural behaviour. Have a proactive approach with a can-do attitude. Have a good degree in structural or civil engineering and be working towards professional chartership status. Have an in-depth experience of structural design and site experience. Demonstrate a good understanding of the basic regulatory requirements including Eurocodes. Have experience and understanding of sustainability issues within structural design. Be a proficient user of Structural Analysis software such as TEKLA, Masterseries, SCIA and TEDDS. Be competent at report writing and other forms of design communication JBRP1_UKTJ
