Digital Structural Technician

London (Central – near Blackfriars)

Permanent

£40,000 – £50,000 + Bonus + Benefits


I’m working with a design-led structural engineering practice in Central London that’s growing its in-house digital and BIM capability.


This is not a standard Revit technician role. Around 60–70% of the work is analytical and computational, making this ideal for someone who enjoys Revit but wants to work closer to engineering, data and digital workflows.


️ The Practice

  • Independent consultancy, 6 years established with around 25 people,
  • Deliver large, complex projects well beyond their size:
  • Multiple schemes £100m+
  • Many in the £50–£80m range
  • Recent £300m / 600,000+ sq ft City project
  • Predominantly commercial offices (Zone 1 & 2)
  • Mix of retrofit, extension & new build
  • Structures across steel, concrete & innovative timber
  • Also working in residential, higher education, labs & cultural buildings
  • Highly technical, design-driven environment


Why This Role?

They already have an experienced in-house BIM Lead and a trusted external Revit team. Now they want to bring more digital capability in-house as projects become larger and more technically demanding.


The Role

You’ll work closely with engineers and the BIM Lead to:

  • Develop and manage structural Revit models
  • Generate analytical models from Revit
  • Improve digital delivery across live projects
  • Build and refine workflows using Rhino, Grasshopper & Python
  • Help push automation, computation and smarter processes


About You

  • Minimum 2–3+ years’ UK experience (ideally 5–6 years)
  • Strong Revit background in structural engineering
  • Clear interest in computational / digital design
  • Experience with or strong interest in Rhino / Grasshopper / Python
  • Proactive, curious and keen to improve how things are done
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team

  • £40,000 – £50,000 (open for the right person)
