The Boury Studios Co Ordinator – London SW8 2TJ / Studio Based
At The Boury Academy we create a world with no barriers to performing arts training for children and young people. We provide affordable classes in dance, drama, singing and musical theatre alongside casting and career opportunities from our rehearsal studios in Vauxhall.
Through our three programme strands; Foundations, Spotlight and Industry Integrations, we work with over 750 young people per week, igniting a passion for performing and creating a safe place for young people to have fun, socialise and express themselves alongside The Boury Agency that represents actors on the professional stage and screen.
Our goal is to be a powerful catalyst for positive change, opportunity and connection for the individual, our community and the industry as a whole where the lack of opportunity in training is mirrored in the lack of representation in the professional world.
We are looking for a new full time studio co ordinator to join our team.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- Managing hires and generating new business at the Boury Studio
- Managing scheduling and invoicing for studio hires
- Keeping track of income from hires and monitoring pipeline
- Ensuring the Safeguarding of Pupils
- Promoting the studios / contacting clients and users via numerous mediums (email, messenger, phone, Social media and other platforms)
- Being responsible for security of the building (open and close)
- scheduling freelance staffs for shifts outside of core studio hours
- Engaging with and speaking to students and parents as a point of contact for open access at the studios
- Maintaining the building within reason and ensuring that it is suitable for occupation
- Assisting with administrative tasks for The Boury Academy
- Assisting the Directors and other employees where needed with administrative tasks
- Representing the Boury Academy and engaging with local and professional partners
- Accepting deliveries and other day to day tasks at The Studios
You’ll need to have/and be able to demonstrate:
- Great sales skills and a drive to grow and further develop within your role as part of our organisation
- Great organisational and communication skills, as this role will involve speaking to various contacts, parents and young people daily & great customer service skills.
- Integrity and discretion – we act in confidence for our users, young people and clients and often are working with or on behalf of high profile confidential clients.
- Ambition and drive, we are passionate about our business and want to take you on our journey!
- Solid technology skills, in reference to MS Office, Word, Excel/Numbers, Database management etc.
- Ability to use and update various social media platforms.
Ideally, you’ll have: (and extra points if you can demonstrate!)
- A genuine interest in the Performing Arts Sector and how rehearsal / casting processes work.
- An understanding of how performing arts schools / mainstream schools operate.
- Any experience of, or an understanding and engagement with, The Boury Academy’s mission to increase access and opportunities within the arts will be hugely beneficial.
This role is a full time position with usual working hours Monday - Friday 9.30am – 6.30pm. There will be times where you will be required to work outside of these hours paid with time off in lieu.
Salary: £26.5-28,500 P/A
Please note that whilst many in our organisation are still actively working as creatives, this particular role is not suitable for anyone who is currently pursuing an acting or performance based career.
Candidate must agree to an enhanced DBS check to work with our young people.
Candidates must be UK / London based.
