- Competitive salary: £50,668 basic salary, with the opportunity to earn up to £54,000 - Weekly variety: You'll work the on average 40 hours per week across the year, receiving your roster seven days in advance with your core working hours confirmed three days prior. - Thrive outside of 9-5: Shifts will fall between 06:00 and 02:00, and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

You're more than a mechanic. You're a problem solver, a people person, and a proud ambassador for the RAC. Whether you're on a busy roadside or a quiet cul-de-sac, you're calm under pressure, quick to connect, and confident in your craft.
You embrace flexibility. One moment it's fault diagnostics, the next it's a flat tyre or a flat battery - no two jobs are the same. You'll manage your own kit, keep your van stocked, and handle your reports with precision.
You know how to read a situation. Our Roadside Mechanics are trusted to make the call; finding the right fix, supporting each member, and keeping everyone moving. Every call-out is a chance to showcase the RAC difference.
What you'll need:
- A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience - A customer-focused approach - A full UK driving licence - Flexibility to work at relatively short notice and open to travel with overnight stays, if necessary
