Are you an experienced Supplier Quality professional with a strong background in interior and exterior automotive components and supplier quality management?

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on quality expert to support a leading high-performance OEM, driving supplier excellence across interior and exterior trim commodities. Based at Gaydon, youll work closely with engineering, purchasing, and supplier teams to ensure world-class quality standards are achieved across the full product lifecycle.

This role requires someone who can confidently manage supplier performance, resolve complex quality issues, and support new product introduction in a fast-paced, premium automotive environment.

Role Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer will take ownership of supplier quality performance across interior and exterior trim commodities, ensuring robust processes from supplier selection through to serial production and warranty. This role plays a critical part in ensuring quality is embedded at every stage, supporting new part introduction, driving supplier capability, and leading problem-solving activities to deliver sustained improvements.

The successful candidate will act as a key interface between suppliers and internal teams, influencing and driving performance to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage supplier quality across interior and exterior trim components
Support supplier selection, audits, and approval processes
Drive APQP and ensure timely PPAP delivery
Lead problem-solving and corrective action activities
Use DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans to drive robust solutions
Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement
Analyse drawings, CAD, and measurement data to support investigations
Lead cross-functional issue resolution and ensure effective closure
Maintain accurate reporting and escalate risks where necessary

Essential Experience:
Automotive supplier quality or quality engineering experience
Strong knowledge of interior/exterior trim commodities (carbon, moulding, leather, paint, assemblies)
Experience managing suppliers through the full lifecycle of parts
Strong problem-solving skills using structured quality tools
Experience with APQP and PPAP
Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA
Confident communicator with strong influencing skills
Experience in fast-paced automotive environments
Understanding of automotive quality standards

Additional Requirements:
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel to Supplier Sites (UK, Europe, internationally)
Candidates must have the independent right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
