About the Role TKMS ATLAS UK is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Operations team and support the improvement of supplier quality across the supply chain.
This role focuses on ensuring suppliers meet the required quality standards from **initial approval through to ongoing monitoring and improvement**. You'll work closely with procurement, engineering, and suppliers to help resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance.
The position reports to the Quality Manager- Supply Chain and offers the opportunity to work within a technically advanced maritime defence environment.

Key Responsibilities Conduct supplier audits, including initial approval and ongoing surveillance Manage supplier non-conformances and root cause investigations Support supplier development and improvement activities Work with Procurement on supplier performance and improvement strategies Review and support First Article and product audits (FCA/PCA) Assist with new product introduction (NPI) into the supply chain Develop and monitor supplier quality metrics and performance trends Work with engineering teams and suppliers to resolve design and production quality issues Develop supplier quality requirements and risk-based audit schedules Build strong working relationships with suppliers to drive continuous improvement
Skills and Experience We're looking for someone with experience in manufacturing or quality engineering, ideally within a regulated engineering environment.
Essential Experience working in manufacturing, production, or quality engineering Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9102 (AS9100 desirable) Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (8D or similar) Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and within a team
Desirable Experience in supplier quality management Practical experience conducting supplier audits Knowledge of APQP, configuration control, and change management Experience auditing special manufacturing processes Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification (or willingness to obtain one)
