In this role, you will lead a team of wafer fab sustaining process engineers, working closely with cross-functional teams to transition cutting-edge technology processes from design and prototype stages to large-scale manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, fostering collaboration and inclusivity while driving cross-functional success and overseeing team performance.
  • Oversee the development of key manufacturing processes, such as diffusion, etching, thermal treatments, lithography, and thin film deposition, ensuring a seamless transition from research phases to product launch and high-volume production.
  • Own and manage the technology roadmap in these areas, aligning with the R&D product roadmap, qualifying new equipment, and introducing innovative process capabilities.
  • Serve as a module owner, performing operational tests and measurements to maintain control over critical dimensions and process defectivity.
  • Propose and implement equipment modifications to improve production efficiency, optimize manufacturing techniques, and enhance output for current products.
  • Define and communicate specifications for new equipment design and acquisition.
  • Use independent judgment to adjust tools and processes, responding to real-time changes or proactively optimizing production efficiency.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges by applying your education and experience.
  • Provide comprehensive engineering support for wafer fab operations, focusing on safety, quality, process optimization, and equipment readiness.

Education, Qualifications, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a semiconductor-related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in SPC, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, juggling multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Experience in photonic integrated circuit manufacturing is a plus.
  • Background in high-tech manufacturing or production environments is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Experience with JMP or Minitab is preferred.
