Systems Engineer


This leading scale up are looking for an experienced System Engineer to join the team


Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical direction of development projects, acting as a senior authority
  • Architect scalable, forward-looking solutions in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Coach and support engineering teams, promoting best practices and high standards
  • Work across teams to ensure delivery against timelines, budgets and quality targets
  • Analyse technical information to make sound, evidence-based decisions
  • Proactively identify risks and implement effective mitigation plans
  • Support the integration of new technologies into production
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and ways of working
  • Contribute to resolving complex technical issues with strong product insight
  • Ensure engineering outputs meet quality, compliance and performance standards
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through clear communication
  • Partner with project management to track progress and maintain delivery plans
  • Serve as a central point for technical guidance and problem resolution
  • Evaluate product performance against defined requirements
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and contribute to future direction
  • Mitigate supply chain risks by identifying and assessing alternative solutions


You will ideally have

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role
  • Strong background in multidisciplinary product development
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end product development lifecycle
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives
  • Ability to define requirements and lead teams to successful delivery
  • Experience aligning engineering approaches with wider organisational strategy
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting team development
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to challenge constructively
  • Self-motivated, proactive and results-driven
  • Experience tracking and reporting on KPIs
  • Ability to research and implement innovative solutions


Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering (e.g. Systems, Electronics, Software or Mechanical)
