Team / Directorate: South Wales central / Operations

Starting salary: £52,268 rising to £57,726 per annum through annual increments being paid each year (pro rata for part time applicants)

Contract type: Fixed Term Appointment until 31/03/2027

Work pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week (Part time, annualised hours, compressed hours or term time working considered - discussions at interview stage welcome)

The role

Are you passionate about tackling climate and nature emergencies through better management of natural resources? Do you want to play a key role in reducing flood risk in the River Taff catchment?

We're looking for a motivated and collaborative Programme Manager to lead the development and delivery of a new catchment partnership focused on managing flood risk and building climate resilience. This role offers the opportunity to shape strategic direction, establish effective governance, and drive integrated, nature-based solutions in South Central Wales.

You'll need strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, along with a proven ability to deliver change through partnership working. If you can turn ideas into action and inspire others to do the same, we'd love to hear from you.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to an NRW office within the place base / location above and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

About Us

South Wales Central is one of seven operational areas within Natural Resources Wales. While it is the smallest in terms of land area, it serves the largest population-around one-third of the people of Wales. Providing high-quality services to our communities is a key priority.

In this role, you'll be part of the South Wales Central Operational Management Team, working alongside managers responsible for Flood Risk, Land Management, Environment Management, and People and Places.
