Responsibilities:
Deliver effective, high-quality Sociology lessons at GCSE and A-Level, ensuring the theory and practice of learning meet the needs of all students.
Monitor and assess student progress, using data to provide constructive feedback and implement strategies to raise aspirations and achievement.
Act as a Form Tutor, providing essential pastoral support and maintaining positive, professional relationships with students, parents, and carers.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative resources and curriculum plans, including the creative use of ICT and Interactive Whiteboards to enhance learning.
Foster an inclusive environment, managing your classroom effectively to ensure safety, motivation, and the highest standards of behaviour.
Requirements:
Hold a QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree in Sociology or a related social science.
Successful teaching experience at the secondary level (including teaching practice), ideally within an 11-18 multi-ethnic urban setting.
Strong pedagogical knowledge, including an understanding of National Curriculum requirements, effective lesson planning, and student assessment frameworks.
Excellent communication, time management, and ICT skills.
