Maternity Cover - Bacup
Start: Easter 2026 (or earlier if available)**

Are you an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant (Level 3) who thrives on supporting children to reach their full potential? A welcoming and forward‑thinking primary school in Bacup is looking for a dedicated TA3 to join their team and provide high‑quality support in their Year 5/6 classes.

This is a maternity cover position and the school are keen to welcome someone with strong experience who can step confidently into an established team and hit the ground running. The role is due to start at Easter, but the school are very happy to bring the right person in earlier if you're available before then.

About the Role

Supporting teaching and learning in upper KS2, predominately in Year 5 and Year 6
Working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive learning
Providing tailored support to pupils, including small‑group and 1:1 work
Contributing to planning, assessment and classroom organisation
Using your experience to help maintain a positive, calm and purposeful learning environment

What the School Are Looking For

A Level 3 qualified TA (or equivalent)
Strong TA experience, ideally within KS2 and especially Year 5/6
Someone confident, proactive and able to take initiative
A nurturing approach with a genuine passion for supporting children
Reliability, professionalism and a warm team spirit
A commitment to upholding high standards in line with Teaching Assistant Professional Standards
