Teaching Assistant – Heathfield

Supply Desk is a well-established education recruitment specialist supporting Primary, Secondary, and SEND schools across East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove. We are currently looking for motivated and reliable Teaching Assistants to work in schools in Heathfield and the surrounding areas.

About the Role

Are you enthusiastic about working with children and supporting their development in the classroom? We are seeking Teaching Assistants to join a variety of welcoming schools in Heathfield.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting teachers and helping pupils stay engaged with their learning. You may work with the whole class, small groups, or individual pupils to provide additional support and encouragement throughout the school day.

This role offers flexible opportunities including day-to-day supply, short-term placements, and longer-term roles, with the potential to move into permanent positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities.
• Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning.
• Help prepare classroom materials and learning resources.
• Encourage pupil participation and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Support pupils with varying learning abilities to help them stay focused and engaged.
• Assist with classroom organisation and behaviour management.
• Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• A positive attitude and a genuine interest in education.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to remain patient, supportive, and adaptable.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Reliability and a professional approach to work.
