Teaching Assistant

Location: Ealing, South West London

Start Date: September 2025


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a primary school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers and specialist staff to provide tailored support that fosters learning, social development, and emotional well-being.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with ASD in both individual and group settings to help them access the curriculum effectively.
  • Implement individualized strategies and interventions designed by SEN coordinators and therapists.
  • Assist in managing behavior and promoting positive social interactions.
  • Adapt learning resources to meet the needs of children with ASD.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, reporting to teachers and SEN teams as appropriate.
  • Promote inclusion and encourage independence within the classroom environment.
  • Support with daily routines, transitions, and any sensory or communication needs.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure consistency of care and learning.
  • Qualifications and Experience:

    • Experience working with children with ASD or SEND in an educational setting.
    • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent) preferred.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting diverse learners.
