SEMH Teaching Assistant – TamworthAre you a SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for a role where you can genuinely change lives? This dynamic alternative provision in Tamworth is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils who have struggled in mainstream education and need a calm, encouraging adult to help them achieve their potential.As a SEMH Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will help pupils regulate emotions, engage positively in lessons, and build confidence through trust, patience, and consistency. No two days are the same — but every day makes a difference.Job Role:

• Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in and out of the classroom
• Providing 1-2-1 and small-group intervention
• Helping pupils manage behaviour and develop coping strategies
• Encouraging engagement, participation and independence
• Working alongside the class teacher and pastoral staff to meet individual needs
• Recording progress and contributing to support plans

You Will Need:

• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours
• Confidence managing behaviour using positive strategies
• Patience, resilience and a nurturing approach
• Ability to build rapport and earn trust quickly
• A genuine belief that every child deserves a fresh start
