Job Title: Team Leader Driller Location/Department: Drilling Reporting to: Business Unit Manager Summary of Responsibilities: Drilling team leader is responsible for supervising the work of staff in the drilling department to ensure they are performing and adhering to company policy. Overseeing the drilling of hinge holes to customer specification on all orders requesting drilling, ensuring all items meet Uforms quality standard. Key Responsibilities: (Not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive) Process Supervise all Drilling activity and ensure compliance with safety, accurately, efficiently and according to procedure. Ensure all stock movements are accurately conducted with care and attention avoiding damages and ensuring efficient transaction Ensure all products have correct over-labelling attached where required Train new employees on Drilling and Health & safety within the role Ensure where necessary orders are presented to despatch meeting agreed standard People Supervision of employees to include the following: Ensure all orders requiring drilling are received and drilled on time to ensure both ex-stock and painted orders meet their agreed Despatch dates. Assign workload daily as per order requirements. Assess individuals performance and record / monitor provide feedback via the Clear Review system. Query any drilling request input errors with the KAM of this customer to ensure that no orders leave drilled incorrectly. Be that due to internal or customer request errors. Address performance problems through corrective action and in conjunction with the HR Department. Use Clear Review system to record & monitor individual performance and progress. Training Responsibility for the on the job training of all new staff within your team. Provide leadership and direction to all members of the department through communication, goal setting, training and development. Health and Safety Ensure that risks to any employees health and safety are identified and appropriate actions taken to eliminate/minimise these risks. Ensures full compliance of their team to all legal and company safety requirements. Monitor and assess own area to ensure safety risks are identified and eliminated. Ensure all employees are thoroughly trained on the use of the drilling equipment and that the health and safety processes involved in the use of this machinery are applied appropriately and adhered to robustly. Quickly and efficiently record and report any safety incidents that may arise. At all times promote a clean and safe work environment making people accountable for their area adhering to 6S standards Ensure Fire Evacuation roll call is carried out effectively Any Health & Safety concerns must be reported to your manager. Quality Make improvement suggestions where deemed appropriate to help with the smooth running and improve efficiencies within the department Audit new improvement processes and ensure confidence is built within the group surrounding them. To comply with Uforms quality standards. To be fully involved in continuous improvements activity in your department. Ensure product transport and handling damages are kept to an absolute minimum through consistent careful packing of orders into boxes Ensure details of each order processed are accurately recorded on a daily basis via the Drilling app. This data will be available via Qlik / Daily Pieces Drilling crystal report to show daily work completed should any queries on orders arise in the future Ensure any damaged or non-conforming stock are removed from the order and replaced with correct stock item before drilling. Ensure any non-conforming product are removed and recorded correctly under appropriate description via communication with the Stock Management team Other Duties: Perform any other duties as deemed reasonable by the management team to support operational goals. Flexibility to cover colleagues' responsibilities during absences. Working Conditions: The role may require standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times within the Warehouse. The role may involve lifting or moving heavy items as part of the loading process. To successfully fill this position, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills/knowledge: Previous Team Leader / Supervisory experience (at least 2 years) 1-3 years previous CNC experience within a busy, fast paced warehouse / factory environment. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work flexible and/or demanding hours as determined by the needs of the business. Ability & knowledge to challenge discrepancies in drilling order specs Willingness and eagerness to develop within the role Hardworking with a can do leadership attitude to achieve daily targets Ambitious, motivated, pro-active with a strong attention to detail Be proficient in the use of company software eg.
