Team Leader Childrens Residential Home
Location: Hatfield, AL10
Salary: £14 - £15 per hour (Depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Important: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a full clean driving licence
About the Role:
We are recruiting an experienced Team Leader to work in a Residential Childrens Home. You will support management in the day-to-day running of the home, provide care and guidance to young people, and supervise and mentor residential care staff.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support shifts, rota planning, and daily operations of the home.
  • Supervise and mentor care staff, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, acting as a role model and supporting their physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and other relevant paperwork are completed and up to date.
  • Deputise for management when required, including out-of-hours on-call duties.
  • Act as a key worker for young people, supporting them 1:1, encouraging independence, and promoting community involvement.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings, reviews, and professional discussions.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards.
Essential Requirements:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent NVQ/Diploma)
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Experience working in residential care and with children and young people
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional boundaries
  • Awareness of safeguarding issues and child welfare practices
  • Emotional resilience when working with challenging behaviour
  • Basic household and cooking skills
Desirable:
  • Experience in juvenile justice settings
  • Knowledge of OFSTED standards and childcare legislation
  • Understanding of managing challenging behaviour
