Senior Manager Technical Accounts (Practice)


This role sits within a large, multi‑regional professional services group focused on delivering trusted, locally driven business advice to small and medium‑sized enterprises. The organisation prioritises strong client relationships, forward‑thinking service delivery, and a collaborative working culture. The Senior Manager will oversee a portfolio of clients, manage key relationships, and ensure high‑quality delivery across accounts and tax services. The position requires a strategic leader who can guide teams, support commercial growth, and uphold high standards of compliance and client care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a personal portfolio of complex clients, including accounts and corporation tax work.
  • Ensure deadlines, actions, and client‑facing communications are delivered to an exceptional standard.
  • Build long‑term relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and team members.
  • Provide tailored advice across accounts, tax planning, and general business matters.


Technical Oversight

  • Review work prepared by the team to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Support colleagues with technical reviews, including:
  • Consolidated accounts
  • Reporting for UK subsidiaries of international groups
  • FRS 102
  • Liaison with external auditors
  • Business valuations
  • Complex VAT matters
  • CT600 submissions
  • Oversee bookkeeping activity at a supervisory level.


Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Contribute to business planning activities focused on revenue, profitability, and service development.
  • Enhance efficiency and operational quality through best practices and effective use of technology.
  • Promote high professional standards and contribute to expanding the organisation’s client base.
  • Maintain oversight of client relationships to ensure value, quality, and compliance.


Key Requirements

  • ACCA / ACA qualified, or QBE with equivalent experience (mandatory).
  • Minimum 3 years’ post‑qualification experience in a practice environment.
  • CTA or ATT desirable but not required.
